Prescott is home to Yavapai Regional Medical Center, a full service not-for-profit facility with over 100 staff physicians, 125 beds, a trauma center, and a hospital based helicopter. The hospital offers a cardiac catheterization lab and full surgical services (including heart surgery), a 24-hour emergency room, two intensive care units and the latest laboratories and imaging services. In 2004, Yavapai Regional Medical Center was recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of America's "100 Best Companies to Work For."
